About Shotover Engineering

Shotover Engineering was set up by Nigel Davy in 1992, to service structural steel requirements for the fast-growing building industry in Queenstown. The company has continued to expand steadily to meet the increasing needs of the area. With the current workforce, we are the largest and longest-serving engineering workshop in the Wakatipu Basin.

After some major management changes in 2001, the company re-formed as Shotover Engineering 2001 Ltd.

We have since branched out into other areas such as Road Transport repair work, Film & Television set building and Hydraulics. We also have developed the retail side of the business to complement the workshop and engineering side. Major products which we retail include Briford Trailers, Snowchains, Trailer parts, Gas, Oils & Grease, and nuts and bolts.

In 2016 we moved into our purpose built workshop complete with a more comprehensive retail shop on site, to fill the present and anticipated future needs of the business.

In 2018 we expanded into Southland with the purchase of JK’s, expanding our capabilities and capacity whilst maintaining our quality control.

Our success is entirely dependent on the quality of workmanship that we offer our clients and the delivery of excellence in customer service on every occasion.

If you are interested in joining a successful team, with a reputation for quality in the industry, we offer a secure future in one of the most sought after areas in New Zealand.
